Vidyanjali Project

The Vidyanjali Project is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at strengthening schools through community and volunteer participation. It encourages individuals, parents, and community members to contribute to the development of schools through service, support, and donations.
Activities Conducted in the School
Our school actively implemented the Vidyanjali Project through the following initiatives:
SMC Meetings and Awareness:
School Management Committee (SMC) meetings were organized to spread awareness about the Vidyanjali Project. Members were informed about how they can contribute to school development.

Awareness During PTM AND ASSEMBLY :
During Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), parents and students were sensitized about the importance and objectives of the project. They were encouraged to participate as volunteers and extend their support.

Poster Making Competition:
A poster-making competition was organized for students to create awareness about the Vidyanjali Project. Students enthusiastically participated and expressed their ideas creatively, helping to spread awareness among their peers.

Community Participation and Awareness Programme:
Parents were invited to the school during the programme where a PPT presentation on the Vidyanjali Project was shown. Students also presented a small skit depicting how individuals and the community can contribute to the betterment of the school. The programme was interactive and informative, and refreshments including tea and snacks were served to all participants

Recognition and Certification:
Certificates were distributed to SMC members and parents who actively participated and contributed, acknowledging their valuable support and involvement.
Conclusion
The Vidyanjali Project has helped in building a strong connection between the school and the community. It has encouraged collaborative efforts for improving the quality of education and infrastructure. The active participation of parents, SMC members, and students reflects a positive step towards inclusive and community-driven school development.

MOCK DRILL ON EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS

The Chandigarh Administration, in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Sector-21A, Chandigarh, conducted a mock drill on earthquake preparedness. Various concerned departments involved in disaster management participated in this event. The Chief Guest for the occasion was worthy Additional Deputy commissioner, Chandigarh Mr. Amandeep Singh Bhatti. School Principal Ms. Sukhpal extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest ,Mr. D.L. Jakhar,Assistant Commandant NDRF, Mr. Sanjeev Kohli, Nodal Officer Disaster Management, Chandigarh Administration, Mr. Sachin Singla,DPRO, Chandigarh, Ms. Sanjana Vats, District Youth Officer, Chandigarh, Dy. Superintendent Of Chandigarh Police and other dignitaries.

Mr. Amandeep Singh Bhatti ADC inaugurated the mock drill.
The drill commenced with Mr. Sandeep Kumar, NSS P.O. GMSSS-21A, Chandigarh informing Mr. Sanjeev Kohli, the Nodal Officer of Disaster Management, Chandigarh Administration about a simulated scenario where the school building had collapsed due to an earthquake, trapping many students and teachers inside. Mr. Kohli promptly relayed this information to all concerned agencies.

The PCR of Chandigarh Police was the first to arrive at the siteat followed by senior officers who assessed the situation. Shortly after, three fire brigade vans reached the location and began their operations. A team of doctors arrived to check the victims, and ambulances transported critical cases to the hospital.

The NDRF team played a crucial role in rescuing the trapped students and teachers. Mr. Sanjay Bist provided an engaging commentary throughout the drill, which was highly appreciated by everyone present. Volunteers from the Aapda Mitra organization and Civil Defence Force actively participated, demonstrating their preparedness and coordination.

Following the mock drill, a briefing session was conducted to summarize the events and assess the effectiveness of the response. The event concluded with a plantation drive, where all dignitaries participated in planting trees, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation alongside disaster preparedness.

Students got first position in Rose Quiz Competition during Rose Festival 2024 held at Rose Garden Chandigarh .

They won cash prize of Rs. 10000.
